Hi Friends!
This is your Hard Money Lender in Tucson and the Southern Arizona area, Billy A with more Nationwide Mortgage news from my friend Herman Thordsen (www.lendinglaw.com).
This report offers some information to keep you current in the market place and out of trouble with the CFPB and other agencies.
- As of October 2013 if you overpay the EDD taxes you may not get a refund.
- Definition of pregnancy leave has changed. If someone is pregnant I suggest you do not terminate until you first speak to your attorney because it is even easier now to sue the employer than before.
- San Diego, California mortgage broker pleads guilty to %100 million mortgage fraud and $14.5 million in kickbacks. This makes the fourth one to plead. Who will be next?
- San Diego, California Real Estate agent indicted for mortgage fraud that dates back to 2005.
- Orange County resident charged with mortgage fraud has case dismissed but District Attorney’s office files another one.
- Connecticut attorney gets 21 months for mortgage fraud that goes back to 2006 and 2007.
- Chicago, Illinois loan officer gets over 12 years in federal prison for mortgage fraud that occurred in 2001 and 2007.
Take special note that the federal prosecutors remind you of the tortoise and the hare. They can be slow but they are methodical even though they get the fraud much later. Remember, the federal prosecutors have two very special statutes that let them indict up to ten years AFTER THE EVENT. Sleep well?
